Palm Springs
Palm Springs is your desert oasis with the highest percentage of queer residents in the entire USA. In the Warm Sands district, you'll find a concentration of men's resorts and guesthouses that you won't find anywhere else – many of them clothing-optional with their own pools. Arenas Road is your go-to place for bars, cafes and evening strolls: one men's bar follows the next, from laid-back cocktail lounges to the dance floor. During the day, mid-century modern architecture, vintage downtown shopping, and trips to Joshua Tree National Park beckon. Plan your visit between November and April, when the temperatures are pleasant – it gets brutally hot in the height of summer. Highlights in the calendar are the White Party weekend in spring and the big Pride weekend in November. You need a car here, because the region is spacious and relaxed car-centric.
