Berlin
In Berlin you will find one of the largest and most open queer communities in Europe. The historic heart of the scene beats in Schöneberg around Nollendorfplatz, where bars, cafés and bookstores have been coming together for decades. In Kreuzberg and Neukölln you will meet a younger, alternative scene with queer-feminist collectives and Spätis until late into the night. Berlin is world-famous for club culture: From legendary tech temples to queer party series, everything is represented here, often without a curfew. The CSD in summer attracts hundreds of thousands onto the streets. The city is also worthwhile during the day – with the Gay Museum, relaxed parks such as the Tiergarten and a dense network of cafés. The city is comparatively cheap, safe and very tolerant. You move freely, get anywhere by S-Bahn and U-Bahn and quickly feel why so many queers make Berlin their adopted home.
