Gay attractions in Berlin tell a lot about the history of the city, which plays a central role in the queer movement. A good place to start is the Schwules Museum in Lützowstraße in Tiergarten, which has been showing gay, lesbian, trans and queer history and culture in changing exhibitions since 1985. At the Nollendorfplatz underground station, a memorial plaque in the shape of the pink triangle commemorates the persecution of homosexuals during the Nazi era, and the dome of the station glows in rainbow colors.

Around Nollendorfplatz, the historic center of the queer scene can be explored on foot. As early as the 1920s, the neighbourhood was considered a gay and lesbian neighbourhood, and many traces of this time are still visible today. The highlight of the year is Christopher Street Day: in 2026, the big parade will take place on July 25, this year for the first time with a prelude the day before. Hundreds of thousands then march through the city center. If you want to get to know Berlin away from the well-known tourist destinations, you will find your own approach to the queer history of the city. The following places will take you to the most important stations.
