Ein reines Männerhotel im klassischen Sinn gibt es in der Stadt nicht. Dafür gibt es eine Reihe von Häusern, die seit Jahren auf queere Gäste eingestellt sind und in Gehweite der Bars entlang der 17th und 14th Street liegen. Wenn du abends zu Fuß von Lokal zu Lokal ziehen willst, wohnst du am besten zwischen Dupont Circle und Logan Circle, denn beide Viertel liegen auf derselben Achse und sind in etwa einer Viertelstunde verbunden. So sparst du dir Taxifahrten und bist morgens schnell wieder im Quartier.
Dupont Circle ist die wohnlichere, von Brownstones geprägte Variante mit Cafés und ruhigeren Seitenstraßen. Entlang der 14th Street in Logan Circle geht es abends lebhafter zu. Über die Metro sind beide Lagen gut an die Innenstadt angebunden, sodass du die großen Sehenswürdigkeiten an der National Mall, das Kapitol und die Museen der Smithsonian Institution ohne Umstände erreichst. Wenn Sightseeing im Vordergrund steht, kannst du auch nahe der Mall oder im Bereich Penn Quarter unterkommen, hast dann aber etwas weitere Wege zur Szene. Plane früh, wenn dein Besuch in den Juni fällt: Zum Capital Pride sind die Häuser in den zentralen Vierteln schnell ausgebucht und die Preise ziehen an.
