Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv has earned a reputation as one of the most queer-friendly cities in the Middle East. The attitude to life is Mediterranean and open: At Hilton Beach, the unofficial queer beach, you can meet the community directly on the Mediterranean Sea during the day. Around Rothschild-Allee and in the center, bars, cafés and clubs are lined up, and the nightlife is considered one of the liveliest in the region. Tel Aviv Pride in summer attracts visitors from all over the world and is one of Asia's largest parades. In between, the historic port of Jaffa, the Bauhaus architecture of the White City and long walks on the beach are worthwhile. The city is rather expensive and you should find out about the current security situation before traveling. As a German citizen, you don't need a visa, but since January 2025 you do need a fee-based ETA-IL, which you can apply for online in advance.
