The bay of Sant Antoni, open to the west, is the classic sunset spot. People gather around Café del Mar and Café Mambo to watch the sun sink into the sea with chill-out music.
Gay attractions in Ibiza take you first to the old town of Ibiza Town. Dalt Vila, the upper town enclosed by a Renaissance city wall, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can be easily explored on foot: narrow streets, viewpoints over the harbour and the cathedral at the top. Directly below is Carrer de la Mare de Déu, the island's unofficial gay street, which seems quiet during the day and becomes the center of the scene in the evening. Only a few minutes' walk apart, both places can be connected in one afternoon.
In the south, Es Cavallet beach is one of the places that has its own meaning for queer travelers. The rear section has long been considered a gay beach and is a staple in the summer. The most important date of the year is Ibiza Pride: after a break of years, it returned in 2017 and since then it has been held every summer over several days in July, with concerts, exhibitions, beach days and the big parade on Saturday.
