Sunrise Ibiza

Sunrise Ibiza

Bar/Cafe

Sunrise is located in the middle of the old town on Calle de la Virgen, recognizable by the neon lights and the swings under the ceiling. On the street terrace, you can watch the hustle and bustle with cocktails – many come for the pre-drinks before clubbing.

Gay bars in Ibiza are concentrated in a single, highly visible place: Carrer de la Mare de Déu in the old town of Ibiza Town, better known to many travelers as Calle de la Virgen. In the old harbour district of La Marina, this narrow, cobblestone alley has been the heart of the queer scene on the island for years. Small terrace bars, boutiques and trendy shops are lined up here. On summer evenings, the alley is so crowded that you can hardly push your way through. Because most of the restaurants are small and open to the street, what is happening outside is just as important as inside.

In Sant Antoni on the west coast, on the other hand, there are hardly any gay bars of its own. On the other hand, the Sunset Strip is a well-known address for the sunset with chillout music. The big club nights for a queer audience do not take place in a fixed scene location, but as changing party series in the island's big clubs, often with their own gay nights in the summer program. Overall, Ibiza is very open, and gay guests are welcome practically everywhere. If you are looking for a clear starting point for the evening, it is best to start in the old town and move on from there.
