Drag Shows

Gay bars in Barcelona are concentrated in Gaixample, the gay heart of the city in the left part of the Eixample. Around Carrer del Consell de Cent and Carrer de Muntaner, there is one bar next to the next, plus clubs, cafés and trendy shops in a small space. During the day, the district looks like a normal residential district with the typical checkerboard grid of the Eixample. In the evening, the streets fill up, and on warm nights the action extends to the sidewalks.

The spectrum ranges from relaxed cocktail bars to cruising bars to larger clubs that open late and run into the morning. In Barcelona, people go out late anyway, and many shops don't really get going until after midnight. With the Pride at the end of July and the Circuit Festival at the beginning of August, there is plenty of program in the summer, then the scene is international and full. If you like it quieter, you will also find queer-friendly addresses outside the Gaixample, for example in Gràcia or on the beach of Barceloneta. The following bars and clubs give you an overview of where you can best land depending on your mood.
