Gay bars in Torremolinos are almost all crowded in a single place, and it's called La Nogalera. Right in the centre, just a few minutes from the train station, is the Plaza, a network of pedestrian alleys beneath a residential complex from the 1970s. Bar after bar, in between terraces, dance bars and cruising bars, almost everything outdoors and in a confined space. If you start the evening with a drink on one of the terraces, you can simply drift through the alleys from there, because there are hardly any paths to walk here.
The evening starts, as usual in Spain, late. You sit outside until after midnight, after which the dance bars fill up, and on summer weekends it goes on until sunrise. Depending on the venue, the programme alternates between drag shows, DJ nights and theme parties, the audience is international and correspondingly full in midsummer. Just outside the plaza, directly on the beach, there are also beach bars such as the Eden Beach Club, which become a dance floor on the water during the day and make the transition from beach day to night fluid. There is no second large club mile. All the going out is centered around La Nogalera and the adjacent streets. During the big dates, especially Mad Bear in August and Pride in June, the hustle and bustle intensifies significantly. The following addresses give you an overview of local bars and clubs.
