Toronto
Toronto is one of the most cosmopolitan metropolises in North America, and you can feel it around every corner at Church-Wellesley Village. Around the intersection of Church Street and Wellesley, bars, clubs, cafés and bookshops are lined up, and the rainbow flags are a natural part of the streetscape here. From cozy pubs to drag brunches to dance clubs, everything is there. In summer, the neighborhood transforms into Pride Toronto, one of the continent's largest Pride festivals with a huge parade. Exploring away from the scene is worth it: the cobblestone Distillery District, the views from the CN Tower and the islands of Lake Ontario are just a stone's throw away. Toronto is multicultural through and through, and the gastronomy is correspondingly diverse. It's best to travel between May and September, when the weather is mild and city life is raging outside – winters are long and cold.
