Rio welcomes you with beach culture and a relaxed, confident scene. Your starting point is Ipanema: Around the section at Posto 9 and Rua Farme de Amoedo, you will meet on the beach during the day and in bars and clubs in the area in the evening. Copacabana next door is also a good place to start. Make time for the classics – Sugarloaf Mountain, Cristo on Corcovado and the Escadaria Selarón in Lapa, where the nightlife rages on weekends. During Carnival, street parties and blocos turn the whole city into a boisterous celebration. As everywhere in Rio, take care of your valuables and avoid less crowded corners at night, then you can enjoy caipirinha, beach and a warm atmosphere to the fullest. The mixture of nature, music and openness makes Rio one of the most exciting destinations in South America.
