Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta is considered the gay beach capital of Mexico, and the center of that reputation is the Zona Romántica in the south of the city. Around the Olas Altas and Playa Los Muertos, beach clubs, bars, cabaret stages and restaurants are lined up closely together - the Mantamar Beach Bar is a magnet for the scene during the day. In the evening, the bars of Lázaro Cárdenas and the surrounding area are filled with drag shows and dance floors. During the day, stroll along the Malecón waterfront with its sculptures, take a water taxi to hidden coves like Yelapa, or simply enjoy the warm Pacific Ocean. The cobblestone old town and the church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe invite you to stroll. Travel between November and April, when it is dry and pleasantly warm – the rainy season in summer brings sultriness and showers. Mexico is cheaper than the US destinations, the attitude to life is warm and relaxed.
