Mexico City
Mexico City is a vibrant metropolis of millions whose queer heart beats in the Zona Rosa. Around Calle Amberes and Avenida Insurgentes, you'll find a high density of bars, clubs, cabaret stages, and cafes – from laid-back hangouts to large dance floors. The scene is open, diverse and active all year round. During the day, immerse yourself in one of the richest cultural landscapes in Latin America: the historic center around the Zócalo, the museums of Coyoacán including the Frida Kahlo House, the grounds of Teotihuacán just outside the city, and the floating gardens of Xochimilco. In the hip districts of Roma and Condesa, galleries, cafés and boutiques are lined up. Travel between March and May, when it's dry and mild – the city is located at over 2,200 meters above sea level, so it remains pleasant. In June, the city celebrates a huge Pride parade. The price level is pleasingly moderate.
