Hilton Bogotá
The Hilton chain is one of the world's reliably LGBTQ-friendly brands, and this is also true in Bogotá. The stylish 5-star hotel offers contemporary comfort, a pool and bilingual staff. The queer nightlife district of Chapinero is just a few minutes' walk away – ideal for living elegantly during the day and exploring the nightlife in the evening.
Hotel Boutique San Sebastián Chapinero
Right in the queer heart of Bogotá lies this charming Art Deco boutique hotel that caters specifically to LGBTQ guests. You will be staying just a few blocks from the legendary Club Theatron and can easily walk to the bars and cafes of "Chapi-gay". Spa with sauna, pool and an in-house restaurant round off the stay.
Sofitel Bogotá Victoria Regia
French savoir-vivre in the posh El Retiro neighborhood: Sofitel is a short walk from the chic Zona Rosa and the queer scene in Chapinero. First-class beds, a fine restaurant and elegant bars make it the luxury base for your Bogotá trip.
Gay hotels and gay-friendly accommodations can be found in Bogotá, densest in and around Chapinero, the gay neighborhood in the north of the city. If you live here, the bars and clubs of the scene are practically on your doorstep and you can get by with short distances in the evening. Chapinero and the neighboring Zona G with its restaurants are considered bourgeois, lively and well connected. From there you can reach the bustling business districts in the north as well as the historic old town of La Candelaria, which you tend to head for sightseeing by taxi or driving service.
You are not fixed on Chapinero. Bogotá is a large, diverse metropolis, and in many houses it is a matter of course for two men to book a double room. If you like it quieter, you can also look around the northern districts such as Usaquén, which is popular with its old town center and weekend markets. Close to museums and colonial architecture, travelers tend to live in La Candelaria, but then have to drive further for the scene. Which location is worthwhile depends on what is in the foreground: night owls are best off in Chapinero, guests seeking peace and quiet in the north. If your visit falls during Pride Week at the end of June, plan early, because then central houses are quickly booked up. Also think about the altitude of around 2,640 meters, which the body gets used to in the first few days.
