Montréal's green local mountain: Designed by Central Park architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Mont Royal Park is the city's most popular green space. From the Belvédère Kondiaronk viewpoint in front of the chalet you have the most beautiful view over the skyline and the St. Lawrence River - ideal for a walk or a picnic in the countryside.
Stade Olympique (Olympiastadion)
Landmark of the 1976 Summer Olympics: The Olympic Stadium with its strikingly inclined tower – the highest inclined tower in the world – is a masterpiece of modern architecture. From the observation deck at 165 meters, you can overlook all of Montréal. Right next door, the Biodôme and the Botanical Garden beckon.

European flair in North America: In Vieux-Montréal, stroll along cobblestones past buildings from the 17th century. The lively Place Jacques-Cartier, with its street performers, cafes and flower stalls, is the heart of the district. Charming boutiques, cosy bistros and the nearby Old Harbour invite you to linger.
Schwule Sehenswürdigkeiten in Montréal drehen sich vor allem um Le Village, das Herz des queeren Lebens der Stadt. Im Stadtteil Ville-Marie erstreckt sich das Viertel entlang der Rue Sainte-Catherine Est und gilt als das flächenmäßig größte Gay Village Nordamerikas. Wer die Szene kennenlernen will, läuft am besten die Straße ab, vorbei an Bars, Cafés und der Metro-Station Beaudry, deren Eingang in Regenbogenfarben gestaltet ist. Im Sommer wird ein Teil der Sainte-Catherine zur Fußgängerzone, über der dann die bekannten rosa Kugeln gespannt sind, eine Installation, die jedes Jahr zurückkehrt und das Viertel weithin sichtbar markiert.
Höhepunkt des Jahres ist die Fierté Montréal, das größte LGBTQ-Festival der frankophonen Welt. Im Jahr 2026 läuft es vom 31. Juli bis zum 9. August, die große Parade zieht zum Abschluss am Sonntag, dem 9. August, über den Boulevard René-Lévesque, und die Veranstalter rechnen mit Hunderttausenden Besuchern. Wer abseits des Festivals kommt, kann das Village mit anderen Ecken der Stadt verbinden: die kopfsteingepflasterte Altstadt am Sankt-Lorenz-Strom, der Mont Royal mit Blick über die Dächer oder die lebendigen Märkte. Die queere Geschichte gibt dem Aufenthalt dabei einen eigenen roten Faden.
