During the day there is Italian breakfast, aperitivi and light meals, in the evening cocktails and house specialties. The crowd is mixed, the outdoor terrace invites you to linger. Karaoke nights and drag shows are held regularly, and the menu also includes vegetarian and vegan options.

Freni e Frizioni
Located on Via del Politeama in Trastevere, the Freni e Frizioni cocktail bar serves as a café during the day and a bar in the evening. Mixologists prepare creative cocktails, accompanied by wines, beers and soft drinks. A vegetarian aperitivo buffet is served with the drinks. The terrace overlooking the Tiber promenade and the industrial style attract locals and travelers alike.

On Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, not far from the Colosseum, is My Bar, with a street terrace and a view of the landmark. During the day a mixed crowd comes, in the evening it becomes a meeting place for the gay community. Village ROMA
In summer, Village ROMA plays in the Parco del Ninfeo in the EUR district with dance floors, bars and seating areas under trees. The open, inclusive area attracts mainly guests from the LGBTQ+ community, including cocktails, street food from food trucks and international DJs between house and pop, as well as open-air cinema and theatre. It can be reached by metro line B, station EUR Magliana.
Gay Bars in Rom sammeln sich vor allem an der Via San Giovanni in Laterano, der sogenannten Gay Street östlich des Kolosseums im Stadtteil Celio. Schon seit den 1960er-Jahren trifft sich die Szene in dieser Gegend, der Name Gay Street setzte sich ab 2007 durch. Tagsüber sind viele Adressen hier Café und Aperitivo-Bar. Erst spät am Abend, oft erst gegen elf, kippt die Stimmung Richtung Nachtleben. Bekannte Anlaufstellen sind das Coming Out, das seit 2001 als Treffpunkt gilt, sowie das benachbarte My Bar. An warmen Wochenenden steht ein Teil des Publikums einfach draußen auf der Straße, mit Blick auf das angestrahlte Kolosseum.
Ein zweites Bündel queerer Lokale liegt in Trastevere auf der anderen Tiberseite. Die Bars dort geben sich eine Spur eleganter, mehr Cocktail-Lounge als lässige Kneipe. Für die großen Clubnächte und die Party-Reihen muss man dagegen oft weiter raus, etwa nach Ostiense südlich von Testaccio, wo die größeren Locations und das spätere Programm sitzen. Eine einzelne Partymeile hat Rom also nicht, das Geschehen verteilt sich auf mehrere Ecken. Wer flexibel ist und die Wege einplant, kommt damit gut zurecht.
