Lisbon
Lisbon is a relaxed, sunny destination with a growing queer scene. The center is formed by the Principe Real district, an elegant urban district with bars, cafes and boutiques that is considered the queer heart of the city. Right next door is the Bairro Alto, whose narrow streets turn into a nightlife district at night, where many queer restaurants can also be found. During the day, you can stroll through the hilly old town of Alfama, ride the historic tram and look out over the city and the Tagus River from the viewpoints, the Miradouros. Lisbon Pride moves through the city centre in summer. Compared to other Western European capitals, Lisbon is quite cheap, very safe, and known for its mild climate. As a German citizen, you enter the country without a visa – your identity card is sufficient in the Schengen area.
