Milkshake is Amsterdam's big, open-queer summer festival. In the Westerpark, a deliberately mixed crowd – queer, straight, everything in between – celebrates to electronic music on several stages, with shrill stage sets and over-the-top acts.

The festival sees itself as a celebration of diversity and freedom without pigeonholing. It takes place on a weekend in July and can be easily combined with a few days in Amsterdam.

What to expect

  1. Stage spectacle
Elaborate decoration, drag and performance make Milkshake more than a music festival.
  2. Deliberately mixed
The crowd is queer and open – celebrations without labels and pigeonholes.
  3. Westerpark
Central, green festival location in the middle of Amsterdam.
