The Transcend Evolve sails from Budapest to Nuremberg in seven nights. Bratislava, Vienna, Dürnstein, Melk, Passau and Regensburg are in between; the ship stays overnight in Nuremberg. The focus is on Christmas markets, illuminated old towns and the wintry landscape on the Danube. VACAYA addresses the small river cruise to the entire LGBTQ+ community and complements the shore excursions with its own entertainment, cocktail evenings and social activities. Meals as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on board are included, according to the organizers. The ship serves as a small, modern hotel that docks directly in or near the cities visited. The trip is sold out, there is a waiting list for cabins that become available.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LGBT cruise differ from a regular one?
As a rule the entire ship is chartered — a 100% queer crowd with its own programme of DJs, drag shows and themed parties.

What is usually included?
Cabin, full board, entertainment and pool are mostly included. Premium drinks, spa and shore excursions are usually charged separately.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers?
Yes — the solo share is high on many trips, and there are often dedicated solo meet-ups on board.

What are the cancellation terms?
That depends on the operator. You will find the exact deadlines and conditions directly with the provider.

What about safety when docking in restrictive countries?
The operators are careful about route choices. At controversial ports, shore excursions are curated thoughtfully.
