Whales, bears and glaciers instead of a show: Olivia, the tour operator for women, will take this expedition cruise to Southeast Alaska in early summer 2027. From May 29 to June 5, you will be on the National Geographic Quest of Lindblad Expeditions, a small ship for 100 guests with 50 outside cabins. The route starts in Juneau and leads through the Tracy Arm fjord to the glaciers, then to Petersburg on Mitkof Island. In Frederick Sound, everyone is on the lookout for orcas and humpback whales. Sea lions and sea otters lie on the Inian Islands, and on Chichagof Island you can kayak on a coast with many brown bears. The ship spends a full day in Glacier Bay National Park before the trip ends in Sitka. Naturalists, an underwater specialist and a photographer from National Geographic accompany the group. In the evenings there are lectures and stargazing, plus an Olivia entertainer. Olivia gives the activity level as easy to medium, the trip is not suitable for wheelchairs and scooters. Currently, booking is only possible via a waiting list.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LGBT cruise differ from a regular one?

As a rule the entire ship is chartered — a 100% queer crowd with its own programme of DJs, drag shows and themed parties.

What is usually included?

Cabin, full board, entertainment and pool are mostly included. Premium drinks, spa and shore excursions are usually charged separately.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers?

Yes — the solo share is high on many trips, and there are often dedicated solo meet-ups on board.

What are the cancellation terms?

That depends on the operator. You will find the exact deadlines and conditions directly with the provider.

What about safety when docking in restrictive countries?

The operators are careful about route choices. At controversial ports, shore excursions are curated thoughtfully.
