Olivia Portugal Douro River Cruise 2028

The Douro cuts through northern Portugal in steep curves, with grapes for port wine growing on the slopes. Olivia will sail on this river for a week in May 2028 on the Avalon Alegria, intended for lesbian and queer women. Start and finish is Porto, where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean. From Porto Antigo, excursions lead to Braga and Guimarães, where Portugal began. Then it goes upstream to Peso da Régua, in the heart of the wine-growing region, and on to Pocinho, where kayak tours and visits to the Quintas await. From Barca d'Alva, you cross the border into Salamanca in Spain. On the way back, Amarante is on the program before the ship docks back in Porto. There is one last day between the old town and modern architecture. On May 31, the trip ends after breakfast.
