The World Traveller is part of Atlas Ocean Voyages' new generation of compact expedition ships, more of a large yacht than a classic cruise giant. Around 200 guests can be accommodated on three living decks, plus a spa, fitness area and several small restaurants.

The ship gets queer visibility primarily from Brand g Vacations, the specialist operator for LGBTQ+ cruises. He books World Travellers for exclusive charter trips across the Mediterranean, typically between ports such as Venice and Malta, with stops at smaller, otherwise hard-to-reach islands and coastal towns. Only queer guests will be on board, accompanied by their own entertainment program between Broadway singing and drag shows.

Outside of this charter, World Traveller sails in the regular Atlas program and is considered gay-friendly there, without the shipping company itself having its own LGBTQ+ offer. In both cases, the small number of passengers makes the ship a more personal than noisy cruise experience.
