Le Champlain is part of the fleet of the French expedition shipping company Ponant and, with around ninety cabins, is one of the smaller but luxurious ships in its class. Instead of XXL entertainment, the focus here is on design, discretion and unusual routes – from fjords to remote Mediterranean ports that larger ships cannot call.
Le Champlain does not yet have its own, documented LGBTQ+ charter history – unlike, for example, sister ships of the Ponant fleet, which are regularly booked for expedition trips by providers such as VACAYA. Those who travel to Le Champlain therefore usually move in the regular, mixed audience of Ponant instead of on a specially organized queer journey.
