Thanksgiving Caribbean Cruise on video

The ship · Resilient Lady

The Resilient Lady is part of the younger fleet of Virgin Voyages, the cruise brand of Richard Branson's Virgin Group, and its design and program are consistently aimed at an adult audience. An adults-only policy, a high proportion of specialty restaurants at no extra charge and an unconventional entertainment concept clearly distinguish the ship from classic family cruises.

For the gay community, the Resilient Lady is best known as a recurring charter ship of Atlantis Events, one of the largest providers of pure gay cruises in the world. Several times a year, Atlantis takes over the entire ship for multi-day cruises, for example through the eastern Mediterranean or to the Caribbean, each with a dense program of pool parties, large deck events and live shows. Because the entire crew is prepared for an all-gay audience on these charter trips, the cooperation between Virgin Voyages and Atlantis Events is considered particularly well-rehearsed in the scene and is booked by many regular guests year after year.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LGBT cruise differ from a regular one?
As a rule the entire ship is chartered — a 100% queer crowd with its own programme of DJs, drag shows and themed parties.

What is usually included?
Cabin, full board, entertainment and pool are mostly included. Premium drinks, spa and shore excursions are usually charged separately.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers?
Yes — the solo share is high on many trips, and there are often dedicated solo meet-ups on board.

What are the cancellation terms?
That depends on the operator. You will find the exact deadlines and conditions directly with the provider.

What about safety when docking in restrictive countries?
The operators are careful about route choices. At controversial ports, shore excursions are curated thoughtfully.
