Southern Caribbean Cruise on video

The ship · Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady is an all-adult ship with 1,404 cabins for up to 2,770 guests and is part of a fleet that has been aimed at a young, diverse audience from the outset, rather than classic family cruises. This fits in with a brand presence that has consistently positioned itself as particularly open to queer guests since its launch, with corresponding personal training and on-board program.

The operator Odyssey Pride charters the Valiant Lady completely for a cruise aimed specifically at black gay men and leads from San Juan through the southern Caribbean, with stops in Curaçao, Aruba, Martinique and St. Kitts and Nevis. The ship thus joins the full charter trips of other LGBTQ+ operators such as Atlantis Events, which operate on sister ships of the same fleet.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LGBT cruise differ from a regular one?
As a rule the entire ship is chartered — a 100% queer crowd with its own programme of DJs, drag shows and themed parties.

What is usually included?
Cabin, full board, entertainment and pool are mostly included. Premium drinks, spa and shore excursions are usually charged separately.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers?
Yes — the solo share is high on many trips, and there are often dedicated solo meet-ups on board.

What are the cancellation terms?
That depends on the operator. You will find the exact deadlines and conditions directly with the provider.

What about safety when docking in restrictive countries?
The operators are careful about route choices. At controversial ports, shore excursions are curated thoughtfully.
