Seville's queer life is concentrated around the long Alameda de Hércules square: one bar follows the next, almost all of them are queer-friendly, and the crowd is mixed and relaxed. Ideal for a relaxed drink in the open air before heading to the clubs later.
Best time to visit

April to early June offers pleasant weather and a good mood, as midsummer can be scorching hot in Seville. If you want to celebrate it, plan the Andalusia Pride at the end of June, whose evening parade and stage shows take place at the Alameda.

The Real Alcázar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with magnificent Mudejar architecture and gardens, as well as the largest Gothic cathedral in the world with the Giralda Tower. In addition, the semi-circular Plaza de España and the flamenco district Triana on the river.

Seville combines Andalusian flair with a relaxed, highly visible queer scene around the Alameda de Hércules. In the long square, one bar follows the next, the crowd is mixed and relaxed, ideal for a drink in the open air before moving on to the clubs. During the day, the Real Alcázar with its Mudejar architecture and extensive gardens is worthwhile, as well as the neighboring cathedral with the Giralda Tower.

If you still have time, stroll across the river to Triana, the cradle of flamenco with a market hall and ceramic shops, or climb the wooden Setas de Sevilla for a view over the rooftops of the old town. Seville is most pleasant in spring and early summer, before the heat of midsummer has a firm grip on the city. Around the Alameda, the Andalusia Pride takes place regularly with an evening parade and stage shows, a good occasion to coordinate the trip with it.

Center & Alameda

15:00 Arrive and stroll through the historic center, past the cathedral and through the narrow streets of the Barrio Santa Cruz.

21:00 Tapas evening and then cozy bar hopping through the queer scene around the Alameda.

Day 2

Alcázar & Plaza de España

10:00 Early to the Real Alcázar to explore the palaces and gardens before the crowds.

23:00 Long night in the clubs of the scene, which start late and last until the early morning.

Triana & Setas

Gay Sevilla

Gay Seville takes place mainly around the Alameda de Hércules, a long, tree-lined square in the north of the old town. Since the eighties, the area has been considered the queer district of the city and today gathers most of Andalusia's gay bars in a small space. During the day, the Alameda is a normal meeting place for coffee or beer in the sun. As soon as evening falls, the tables move outside and the atmosphere becomes mixed and relaxed. Many restaurants display the rainbow flag. The distances between the individual addresses are short.

In addition to the scene, Seville has enough for several days: the huge cathedral with the Giralda bell tower, the Royal Palace Real Alcázar and the Santa Cruz district with its narrow streets. Because Andalusia is open and tolerant, gay couples move around here without much attention. The queer highlight of the year is the Orgullo de Andalucía: in 2026, the big parade will move through the city on Saturday, June 27, in the evening, with the program at the Alameda running a few days before. If you want to avoid heat, it's better to travel in spring or autumn, because midsummer quickly gets very hot in Seville. As a base, a quarter around the Alameda or the nearby old town is a good starting point, from where you can easily reach the scene and sights on foot.
