Gay Palma de Mallorca
For many, Gay Palma de Mallorca is the first stop on the island before heading to the beaches. You can explore the old town on foot with its narrow streets, La Seu Cathedral at the harbour and the cafés in the courtyards. Queer life takes place mainly in the Santa Catalina district, west of the center. Today, the former fishermen's quarter is considered a trendy nightlife district with bars, restaurants and a weekly market, and part of the gay scene meets here. You will also find places along Passeig Marítim and around La Lonja at the harbour where you will feel comfortable as a gay guest.
The scene in Palma is manageable, but the addresses are close to each other, so that an evening can be arranged without long distances. Mallorca is already geared towards an international audience, and the island is relaxed for gay couples. The highlight of the queer calendar is Pride, which traditionally takes place in Palma in June with a parade and accompanying program. If you want to combine beach and city, use Palma as a base and drive from there to the bays of the island. Late spring and early autumn are the best time to visit, when it is warm but not overcrowded. In midsummer, there is more going on, but it gets hot and crowded.
