Montréal — Le Village

Gay Montréal combines a relaxed, francophone way of life with one of the most vibrant queer scenes in North America. The center is Le Village, the gay neighborhood along Rue Sainte-Catherine Est in the Ville-Marie district, the largest of its kind on the continent in terms of area. Here, almost everything is close together: large clubs, drag cabarets, bear and leather bars, plus saunas, cafés and restaurants. The central Beaudry metro station with its rainbow entrance is practical, from which you can quickly reach the city center and the old town. For a first visit, accommodation in the Village or in the neighboring Latin Quarter is a good base, because then you will be on foot.

The city is bilingual, French dominates everyday life, but with English you can get through everywhere, and Canada is considered a very open travel country.
