From the Belgian capital, other cities in the country can also be easily reached by train if the trip takes a little longer.

Gay Brüssel

Gay Brussels takes place mainly in the lower town, around the Rue du Marché au Charbon and the adjacent Saint-Jacques district. Because bars, cafés and meeting places are lined up here within a few metres, this short, well-filled street in the evening is considered the heart of the scene. Brussels is compact. Most of the city can be reached on foot in the center, and the walk from the restaurant to the bar often takes only a few minutes. As the Belgian capital and seat of the EU institutions, the city has an international character and is relaxed towards queer guests.

Beyond nightlife, Brussels has its own queer infrastructure. Close to the trendy district, the Rainbowhouse bundles numerous clubs and serves as a meeting point for the community. A clear highlight in the calendar is Belgian Pride: in 2026, it will run through the city centre on Saturday, 16 May, with the big parade and celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Pride Village is located on the Mont des Arts. If you like it quieter, you can travel outside this date, for example in early summer or early autumn, when the weather is mild and the city is less crowded. Between visiting the scene and sightseeing, Brussels fits a lot into a short stay, from the Grand-Place to museums and the many cafés.
