Olivia's Galápagos trip leads to the north and west of the archipelago, where only a few ships go. The group of lesbian and queer women is on the road with Lindblad Expeditions on the National Geographic Gemini, which has just been renovated. On October 23, 2026, the journey begins with a hotel night in Guayaquil, then takes a flight to Baltra and Black Turtle Cove on Santa Cruz. Depending on the approval of the National Park Authority, Rábida, Tagus Cove on Isabela with a view of Lake Darwin and Punta Vicente Roca on the equator follow, where penguins can be seen with a bit of luck. In Puerto Ayora, the Charles Darwin Research Station is on the agenda. Afterwards, the ship will sail to Darwin Bay in the north with its red-footed boobies and finally to Sullivan Bay and Bartolomé with black lava. After the ship docks in Baltra, the group flies back to Guayaquil, where the journey ends on November 1.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LGBT cruise differ from a regular one?

As a rule the entire ship is chartered — a 100% queer crowd with its own programme of DJs, drag shows and themed parties.

What is usually included?

Cabin, full board, entertainment and pool are mostly included. Premium drinks, spa and shore excursions are usually charged separately.

Is the trip suitable for solo travellers?

Yes — the solo share is high on many trips, and there are often dedicated solo meet-ups on board.

What are the cancellation terms?

That depends on the operator. You will find the exact deadlines and conditions directly with the provider.

What about safety when docking in restrictive countries?

The operators are careful about route choices. At controversial ports, shore excursions are curated thoughtfully.
